Reply by antmdm on October 13, 2016 I have the 2017 upgrade version (or rather, had!). Your description is almost identical to my experience last month. I installed the upgrade to 2017 and that night ran the software to make a full copy of my system.

In the morning I looked & saw no error messages and a normal looking large backup file. I then rebooted. And Catastrophe! My PC refused to start. I used the Acronis rescue app on a USB to get in, but the restore failed after about 3 hours. Tried several times (wasted days), even tried restoring parts of the backup, no good, then got it partly working, but then had a continual loop of logging on to windoews and 5 seconds later logging off. Continually going in a loop.

After 3 days I gave up & reinstalled everything from zero with Windows 10, all my software & all my data backups (made via a different software thankfully). I am afraid to even install the Acronis software now.
